Stew & Dumplings slow cooking - Dumpling advice please!

I have a Ninja air fryer/ slow cooker given to me that i am unfamiliar with using

I have managed to make a beef stew using the slow cooker. i then set it to keep warm. Stew itself was perfect!

I know how to make suet dumplings however what is the best method for cooking. (prev when oven cooking stew, i would just add 30mins before end)

i tried adding dumplings to stew 30mins before serving and they were still like dough. i had to remove them

Also i have now put large portion leftover in fridge. can this be reheated and dumplings added in some way?

Thank you

I have cooked mine dry in the oven before now, lovely and crunchy on the outside.

I agree - dumplings in oven, or on top of stew finished off in the oven. This makes them crunchy on top, fluffy inside.

what temp oven? how long?

would i just place on a baking tray on their own.

and then add to the stew afterwards?

You could steam the dumplings, if you have a steamer, on the hob but you wouldn't get the nice crunchy top others have spoken about. I usually pop mine in the oven on top of the cooked stew.

If you reheat the stew in the oven, then just pop the dumplings in as normal?

I have a slow cooker and dumplings cook nicely in mine in 40 minutes. As others have said, they don’t get the crisp top that you get in oven cooked dumplings but they’re still delicious.

I chuck mine in about an hour before I want to eat.

I do a taming twins recipe in my slow cooker that has dumplings.
She says to put the dumplings in then put a tea towel over the top , then put the lid on for last 40 minutes. They don't crisp though but I like them softer.
