Kitchen cupboards!

First world problem I know but we've recently moved to a house that has a lot more kitchen storage than we had in our old place. Before we just had to cram everything in together - spices, jars, tea bags, oils, cans, flour, lentils, pickles, baked goods, porridge, marmalade... Now we have so much space but I'm struggling to decide what to put with what! How do you categorise your kitchen cupboards?

Cereals together, crisps and snacks together, tinned goods together, tea/coffee/hot choc near kettle. Baking ingredients together, spices in a drawer under the hob. I just group things together according to how I use them. If you do this and something doesn’t work, you can just move it.

Put 'stuff that goes in the dishwasher' in cupboards as near as possible to the dishwasher for easy unloading.

Bitter experience suggests keeping the kettle under a cupboard without any foodstuffs in it as it can get warm and damp in there.

Cooking oils and seasonings near the hob, tea and coffee not too far from the mugs. Breakfast stuff all in the same cupboard.

If you have room, you could have eg a baking cupboard.

Leave enough room on shelves to easily rotate stock eg the newest tins of tomatoes go straight to the back and consider shelf organisers so you can see what's at the back or make the best use of space. Try Lakeland if budget allows.
