Organic meat

In the last 6 months I've moved my family to a mostly UPF free/reduced diet and I'm not looking at changing any meat we eat to organic, it's very expensive and we aren't a wealthy household.

Just wanted to hear what peoples experiences are swapping to organic meat and where you're buying it from primarily?

The only time I've bought it is when it's "yellow-stickered" in a supermarket.
Can't taste any difference.
I thought all meat - as opposed to meat products - is UPF free ?

I don't buy organic but I do buy high welfare. You generally can taste the difference.

There are a range of online butchers plus we are lucky enough to be near a farm so you can see exactly how the animals are raised as they are right there.

I'll only cook meat once a week though and absolutely everything will be eaten, bones used for stock etc.

Normal meat is UPF free, but they are given regular antibiotics in their feed to prevent disease which is caused by poor living conditions which isn't good for us either.

High welfare is important and a driver for me, but I'm also worried about the amount of antibiotics the animals are being given

Do you think it's safe to assume if the living conditions are better they aren't given antibiotics on a regular basis? X

Antibiotics in animal feed has been banned since 2006

choose what you buy - organic chicken livers are not expensive and given liver's function feels like a good investment.

I only buy organic meat, and mostly buy it online from Eversfield. I also get some organic meat with my Ocado order, and sometimes when I go to Waitrose or Sainsbury's. I buy things that are on special offer when I can and don't find that it's really much more expensive than non organic meat. It's a bit more challenging when my daughter and son in law come to stay as they are Muslims and I struggled to find organic Halal meat, but have now found a really good local-ish farm.
