Looking to upgrade my cookware, specifically saucepans and frying pans. Happy to spend ££ but not £££. I cook most days so want decent quality. I've looked at procook and ninja brands but looking for recommendations please.

I like stellar ones in stainless steel..There are plenty of half price sales for them. They'll definitely last.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/01/2024 23:40

We've got a few ProCook pans which seem good to me.

I just bought a set of 5 stellar 1000 and am
very happy so far!

We’re gradually moving everything to Le Creuset. Honestly, the pots and trays and dishes practically wash themselves!

I was a bit concerned about not putting them in dishwasher, but just plunge into hot soapy water and the food/residue just lifts off. Wonderful!

Samuel Groves - I think they use them on Masterchef sometimes. I've only got one of their pans but it is lovely.

Stellar stainless steel pans are great, have good weight to them.

I picked up a few stainless steel Cuisinart pans in TK Maxx a while ago and they're very similar to stellar.

We bought a couple of Le Creuset bits over Xmas - eCookshop had some of the ranges at half price.
They do wash really well - DH is really annoyed now as I bought the wanky special cleaning solution for them.

Another vote for the stainless steel Stellar pans. We’ve had our set for over 15 years and all as good as new.

Littleguggi · 04/01/2024 22:12

I would dream of le creuset! I used to lust over them when I worked at a large department store years ago! It is a shame they have shot up in price since :( I will look into the other recommendations thank you!

I am very happy with Stellar. I gave away all my Le Creuset as they are so heavy & I could no longer lift them.

CutesyUserName · 05/01/2024 17:32

I've got a set of Stellar pans that have been in daily use for over 20 years and they still look like new. I bought some for my daughter 10 years ago, and they are also like new. Lifetime guarantee, too.

StiggyZardust · 05/01/2024 17:55

I have a set of John Lewis own brand stainless steel pans. They are over 20 years old and as good as new. I would highly recommend them.

APurpleSquirrel · 05/01/2024 18:18

Scoville Neverstick - really do work & Asda have them on offer atm.

Littleguggi · 05/01/2024 21:14

I have the scoville never stick oven trays and they are amazing, they look brand new after 2 years still!

I'm interested in the stellar but never used stainless steel pans before, I know my mum swears by them but aren't they hard to clean? I don't own a dishwasher

Another vote for stellar, I had the pots from 20 years back I think 7 something. Clear lid ones. But the handles got very hot idk about the newer stellar.

In love with le crueset now! All metal type, idk if the range is called something, I didnt do the purchasing. Really recommend this if you can afford it.

Cookerhood · 05/01/2024 21:18

Scoville neverstick. They are the best I've ever had. I'm so impressed with them I bought them for all my DC's too (ASDA most recently in the sale).

Mindyourfunkybusiness · 05/01/2024 21:20

@Littleguggi
Cleaning stellar I used those metal scrubber things if burnt and you can't really destroy them.

Cleaning le crueset I just add water and use the mixing spoon to scrape it off whilst on the hob and clean. Although it all goes in the dishwasher, they're work horses. I do just use those scrubber type things and just scrub. At some point you have to accept scratches and use and then you can be quite brutal with them.

hexsnidgett · 05/01/2024 21:37

I have had a set of m&s stainless steel pans I have had for over 20 years along with some asda stainless steel milk pans. I only have nonstick for scrambled eggs and they have now been replaced by a cast iron skillet, which is the best.
Everything comes clean, usually a two minute soak in hot water is plenty even if it's burnt on.

amazonianwoman · 05/01/2024 21:41

John Lewis Classic stainless steel. Mine are almost 30 years old and still look amazing. I managed to break a handle on one lid years ago (dropped on stone floor) and they replaced it free of charge
