Do you make your own yogurt?

How do I make it thicker?

Does it continue to set when you put it in the fridge?

Are you using full fat milk?
Add milk powder to the mix.

Alterantively buy it. With it costing about 50p for 5oo ml form somewhere like Lidl (plain and live) I don't think it's worth the effort frankly.

I occasionally do. I found it was better usuing full fat milk although I know that may not be so good for the waistline. The way to make it thicker is to add 2 spoonfuls of dried milk powder to the milk before heating it.

Or, you can drip it through a muslin apparently to make thick Greek-like yoghurt but I have never tried this. HTH.

Lol Moondog, crossed posts!

Alternatively, strain it through a clean tea towel after making.
Tie between taps over the sink and leave for a few hours. Will get really thick then.

And again!

I would only do it to involve the dc in the process. Same with making butter (I really cocked that one up though)

moondog · 16/03/2008 18:00

Making butter is fantastic fun though.

Already use full fat milk.
It's cheaper to make organic than to buy organic.

Never tried butter!
