How do I stop Christmas pudding going mouldy?

Made a pudding. It's come out really moist.
How is this not going to go mouldy after a couple weeks? I understood Christmas cake because you soak it but I don't understand how Christmas pudding doesn't go mouldy.

Alcohol

Keep it in the fridge. Presumably it has alcohol in it and has been well cooked so it should keep fine

You steam it until cooked, the leave it sealed in the bowl, with the paper top on. Wrapped further once dry.

But, if you know it's moist, I guess you've taken it out of the cooking bowl?? I don't know what you do now.

If it's very moist and you don't have a very cool dry place to store it (houses today are much too warm for storing cakes/puds in general) the put it in the fridge, freezer if you really want to.

I buy mine. We don't like Christmas pudding enough to justify making one, so I just buy a small one.

Airtight container in the fridge? My mother would keep hers in the bowl she’d cooked it in well wrapped up but there was always a lot of booze in hers.

Thanks everyone. Think I'll add more booze and keep in the fridge. Followed BBC recipe instructions which instructed me to only use 2tbsp cognac in a 2L pudding, remove from bowl and change wrap. Definitely not comfortable leaving it like this!

I make one every year. It only has 2tbsp brandy in it. I take it out of the mould, re wrap, put back in mould and put in fridge and it’s always been fine.

2tbsp booze isn't much so yes you could add a bit more, but of course that booze won't be cooked in to the pud so be cautious as you don't want too much raw alcohol. I've never changed the bowl but yes, best to change the foil/baking paper covering the top.
