Ooooh the consultant will prepare something utterly yummy demonstrating the products she is selling and you'll be delirious with excitement at all the marvellous gadgets.
HTH

Furball · 14/03/2008 18:56

normally the pampered chef person cooks something and tries to sell you everything she uses.

warning - tis nice stuff but quite pricey. So work out before you go how much you want to spend.

childs knife is a good buy and only A Couple of quid.

MaryAnnSmotheredinchocolate · 14/03/2008 18:57

I know about pizza stones

muppetgirl · 14/03/2008 18:58

Very 'gadgety' lots of things you will go 'oooo' and 'ahhhh' over, buy and then never use.

or is that just me?

princessmel · 14/03/2008 18:58

I went to one on monday. It was nice. Pricey though.
She made yummy sun dried tomato and cheese muffins and some mini bakewell tarts.
I got a mini muffin tin for £15.99.

BecauseImWoeufIt · 14/03/2008 19:00

It should be good fun - nice food, good company and hopefully your hostess will supply you with nice wine! (No Concorde, hopefully!)

PC stuff is good, but beware you will suddenly feel that you absolutely must have all manner of odd gadgets that cost at least £12.50.

princessmel · 14/03/2008 19:01

I thought there was loads of gadgets that weren't actually that new after all.
Like a garlic press Admitedly it was a fab one and you didn't need to remove the skin etc.
And one of those choppers that you press the lid down and it cuts it in a pot. crappy description I know. They have them in Wilki and Woolies made by JML for about £5.

MaryAnnSmotheredinchocolate · 14/03/2008 19:01

do you know how much a pizza stone might be ?

MaryAnnSmotheredinchocolate · 14/03/2008 19:02

hope there's no Concorde BIWI

muppetgirl · 14/03/2008 19:02

I like the cookie maker thing I bought. It works for the first 2 and then doesn't work at all. I do like and use the pizza rectangular stone.

Pricey though.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 14/03/2008 19:04

The chopper is fabbo

ditto the mini muffin pan plus tool (oo er missus)

The egg separator is great ( I am very sad)

muppetgirl · 14/03/2008 19:06

have a look at the products here

BoysAreLikeDogs · 14/03/2008 19:07

OMG just look at that trifle

princessmel · 14/03/2008 19:07

I wanted the tool for the muffin pan ( the splodger) but my kids dont eat pastry. I'm going to use it for fairy cakes. Thats all I cook!!!
Ds would have loved it tho. It looked so fab. You put in a blob of dough and then splodge it with the dopper and it fills the hole perfectly. Oooh that sounds rude!!

Twiglett · 14/03/2008 19:10

if you have to buy something, which you will get www.pamperedchef.biz/lynnejones?page=products-detail&categoryId=123&productId=1770 it's the best mixing, scraping thing I've got .. pricey but so useful

use it for cakes and for hot stuff

MaryAnnSmotheredinchocolate · 14/03/2008 19:22

thanks muppetgirl and twiglett

ladette · 15/03/2008 19:07

Twiglett, I bought one of those and it's fab. As you say, pricey. But, if you are going to a PC party and getting tasters of the food (which the hostess pays for, i think) and some vino, then you feel more obliged to buy something than e.g. tupperware/bodyshop etc. I think the mix'n'scraper is the best "really should buy something" thing on offer.

themoon66 · 15/03/2008 19:16

at £12 for a spatula.

Ags · 15/03/2008 20:02

I hosted a pampered chef party a few weeks ago. Had it in the morning and it was really nice. The consultant cooked a danish pecan maple ring. The most popular things that people bought were the stoneware (my friend is a raving fan of hers), batter bowls and children's knives. I had a party cos I heard the stuff was good and I wanted some of the children's knives but was amazed at how much I got for hosting. I ordered £100 worth of goods (A friend had asked me to buy the mandoline which was £60!) and I only paid £40 for the lot. I had 7 friends at it and they spent between £20 and £30 each. DEfinately work out how much you want to spend in advance as it all seems like SUCH a good idea on the day.

TsarChasm · 15/03/2008 20:05

Their cheese knife is fabby. It cuts lovely thin slices. (I am easily amused these days)

ladette · 15/03/2008 20:11

the moon, don't think about it as being £12 for a spatula, think about it as £12 for a night out, including food, and depending on the host, might include wine also. Not so bad then. But agree, I'd never walk into a shop and pay that for a spatula, but it actually does all they say it will (unlike their chopping boards

pointedegg · 15/03/2008 20:28

You will be ripped off, that's what'll happen

ILiveinhope · 15/03/2008 20:33

Agree with the Twig. Tis the bestest spatula ever, I only bought it coz it was cheap. I use it ever day. I have never had a spatula that gets everything out! Tis fab. Go and drink and enjoy and buy that!

Wolfgirl · 15/03/2008 20:38

We were bought an Ice cream scoop for christmas. Upon first opening, I though, ah great. Charity shop will have this, we have 6 at least.

But then!!!!!!! DH looks up pampered chef on the interent, and then I changed my mind of course. Absolutely brilliant invention. Not touched the other 6 scoopers since
