Fortunately I have a non-fussy eater in my 5y DD.

She normally eats whatever Dh and/or I am having, so could be a whole range of stuff inc meat, fish or veggie meals. There is little she doesn't like. I include veg or salad into every meal. We don't actually eat a huge amount of fruit here - although DD loves strawberries, fresh pineapple and melon - as on the whole we eat raw veg as snacks rather than fruit.

Her current favourite meal is duck wraps.

What do you eat, Minnie? Can they not have the same?

Anyway - quite often (bear in mind dd is still only a very amenable 17 mo!)
Veg chilli and rice
Beef or lamb stew
Fishcakes with peas and/or broccoli
Pasta with tomato and veg sauce, or with pesto, broccoli, mushrooms and spinach
Curry with fish or chicken
Sausages, lentils and root veg mash
Lasagne
Roasted veg and couscous

Duck wraps - as in Chinese style? Lovely!

Well not quite authentic as I just use duck breast cut into little strips and pan fried, with some stir fried veggies in some soy sauce a nd a touch of sweet chilli sauce. DD and her friend love it!

I have 6 yr old that will eat anything and 4 yr old thats a bit more fussy, the only veg he really enjoys is raw carrots so there is always a big bowl of them on the table. They both basically eat what we eat, would never cook them anything seperate. They favs have to be any roast dinner (they both love their meat) and pasta. For the fussy one I put a little bit of veg on and little less meat or pasta than I know he will eat, he ignores the veg and scoffs the meat or pasta and immediately asks for more, I tell him he can have more if he eats the little bit of veg before he can have more, it always works. Neither of them are very keen on things in sauces ie stew, chilli. They also like fish alot

My dcs (7 and 4) like most, I suspect, go through phases of what they like and don't like. My 4 year old has always been very keen on fruit and veg but is now "going off" certain things. ATM he won't eat cucumber or tomatoes (both of which he has always eaten happily up til now). I try not to get upset when he refuses food he's always enjoyed before, and offer something with similar nutrients in their place - raw carrots and peppers, for instance. Cauliflower instead of broccoli. My 7 yr old says she hates oranges but is very happy to eat tinned mandarin segments. Think she doesn't like the pith!

Before children I had a working relationship with Susie Orbach. I admire her enormously and her great mantra is to try and be neutral about food with children. Not to get stressed, not to bribe or reward with food, not to label some foods as "good" and others as "bad", just to teach them by example and quietly get on with feeding them 90% fresh, healthy stuff without making a great song and dance about it.

Give them less than you think they want on their plates and offer more if they eat it all. Nothing puts a child off eating more than an over-loaded plate IME.

DD1 is 2yr2mons and she would have cereal and actimal in the morning. For snack she might have rasins or apple on a good day or a bag of taytos.. She would eat what we are eating most evenings which can be anything from stew to a curry. She She has atarted to eat rolls with cheese and meat which never happened B4. Drinks milk and diluted orange. DD2 1yr3mons eats more or less the same loves potatos and veg dinners all mashed up.

Will try wraps with DD as i really think she would love them..
