Fastest way to make fries/chips?

Hello!

What is the fastest device to make fries/chips?

I tried a regular air frier (not the specialised that cooks with a spoon of oil) and they were not good at all in addition to taking half an hour.

A regular fry pan can also get very messy and it is not very fast either!

Thanks!

I sometimes just cut the potatoes finely and roast them at a high heat in a bit of oil on a baking tray, turning occasionally. Doesn’t take that long, nice and crispy.

I also just chop potatoes, tossin tiny bit oil and salt/ herbs and on non stick baking tray in normal oven.

Cut very fine, toss in oil and seasoning, throw in air fryer and shake basket regularly

"I tried a regular air frier (not the specialised that cooks with a spoon of oil) and they were not good at all in addition to taking half an hour."

I'm confused by this, an airfryer does cook chips with a small amount of oil, not sure how you differentiate between "regular" & "specialised".

My AF does take 30 minutes, but that's much quicker, cheaper & healthier than the oven. And they're good !

My air fryer takes 15 mins to cook chips.

I was presuming they were saying regular air fryer as opposed to the Tefal Actifry which is advertised as mainly for chips and with a spoonful of oil

Air fryer 15ish mins for lovely chips. I use McCain’s frozen ones or make my own. When I make my own I toss them in some oil and seasoning before going in the air fryer also makes the best crispy roast potatoes

Another option is boil small chunks / fat slices of potatoe and then saute on a gridle pan. We do this with new potatoes, with skin on and prefer to chips.

The easiest and quickest way to make tasty chips or fries is to bake them in the oven. Slice your potatoes thinly, coat them with oil, season with salt, and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 450°F (230°C). This eliminates the need for deep frying and ensures flawlessly crispy results. Savour your quick bite! Also You can try this...

Thank you, I got the Actifry Genius (not advertising) and it is brilliant. It makes almost perfect fries in 31min with no hands (which is the most important for me).

The other Airfrier I have makes crips poorly, perhaps I haven't found the optimal operation but nevertheless, requiring stirring is a big obstacle for me who I need to put the potatoes and revisit when I hear the beep that they are done.

I would like them with a bit more fat but I guess I can live without it.

I am now looking to make pasta in that device if it can cook it to perfection without me standing over the pasta to stir it. Any idea?

Thanks!
