Anyone got a good recipe to use up pumpkin pulp?

And I mean the pulp rather than flesh. All the ones I can find online are for flesh. I mean the gloopy soggy stuff.

I'm guessing it would make a good soup but I need inspiration.

TIA

Do you mean the stringy bits that hold the seeds? Can't think of anything you can use it for, but you can roast the seeds.

We always roast the seeds.

But it seems a shame to throw any of the inside away.. not even soup?

I don't think you can use the stringy bits around the seeds, but if it's scrappings from inside the pumpkin after carving it will be flesh & can be used.
Lots of good recipes including pumpkin snickerdoodles, chocolate pumpkin brownies, soup, pumpkin pie etc

The slimy gloop?? There's a reason you haven't found any recipes that call for it.

Ach so much for zero waste!

You can use it to make soup as you would with the flesh.

I mean, I'm sure you could roast it, if you pulled out all the seeds and added it in with the rest of the flesh. Really though, it's not as nice as the flesh and if you are going to cook a pumpkin, use the nice bit! If it's just from pumpkin carving, I'd enjoy the seeds and let the rest go. And enjoy your pumpkin.

You could probably feed it to chickens if you have any though. Our chickens are loving all the pumpkin bits this year.

I just chucked the pulp in when making generic vegetable soup, which I blended after cooking. It came out ok, not amazing but fine.

I would boil it up, drain it and blend it with butter to make a pumpkin purée. Then I would use the pumpkin purée in a risotto. I make a pumpkin risotto with pancetta, sage and Parmesan which is lovely.

Just chuck it in the compost. Carving pumpkins aren't great for eating anyway.
