Can't find a large roasting dish for lamb shoulder

Hi All,

I am looking for a large roasting dish with a lid preferably to roast a lamb shoulder. I've looked on Amazon and Harts of Stur but I can't seem to find anything for a lamb shoulder. Does anyone have any recommendations from their experience for a large roasting dish that's big enough to roast a lamb shoulder? I have found whilst browsing the width is the issue. Any recommendations for a glass or stainless steel dish would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

My biggest dish - which would easily fit a shoulder - came from IKEA two decades ago. Might be worth looking there though?

I've always found Lakeland good for kitchen equipment . Always ordered online as none near me . Not sure about large roasting tray with lid though , don't most people just use foil or a slow cooker .

Roasting tin plus foil in this house.

I second IKEA - it doesn't have a lid - but it does fit a lamb shoulder and they still sell them now.

Thanks. I did go to Ikea however did not find one large enough in terms of width. I'll head there this week and look.

Would you by any chance have a link to the one you're referring to?

I can't be sure without measuring mine - and I've gone to bed now - but I think it's www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/koncis-roasting-tin-with-grill-rack-stainless-steel-10099053/

Danny2021 · 10/10/2023 22:11

thanks this seems like the measurements I needed. I will head there this week.

I have the same ikea tray and just double foil it rather than a lid

Great!

I can't believe they still sell it - and for about the same price I paid for it twenty years ago.

It'll last you forever Grin

I'd use the grill pan & cover with foil

I have a very large le creusseut casserole dish with a lid that I've roasted things like lamb shoulder in. Obviously, that's very expensive, but Linea used to do a good knock off range and so did Sainsbury's.

Otherwise surely just a big roasting tray with tin foil would work?

Cheeesus · 11/10/2023 11:16

We have this and it fits a leg of lamb in.

I have the largest glass one from Ikea and did a 3kg lamb shoulder the other day. Foil “lid” - you’ll need extra wide foil.

TheSandgroper · 11/10/2023 16:28

Two turkey sized foil trays? One on top of the other? And cook it very low. That will buy you time to find something for next time.

Have you looked in "The Range"? Or Dunelm?
They have loads of large cooking pots and pans and dishes with or without lids.

Danny2021 · 14/10/2023 21:09

yes but sadly didn't find anything. I went to Ikea today and found two dishes thanks to everyone on this thread for helping :). Much appreciated!
