Freezing wine, who does it and why does it taste so bleugh?

I saw this on Nigellas programme once. She said it was ideal to do and can be used for cooking when you only need a glass.

It sounded a good idea. When I was pregnant I didnt drink, but OH did, he barely drinks, (perhaps its because he didnt get a look in before) and he'd open a bottle and have one or two glasses and wouldn't touch it for a week. We are talking £8.00-£9.00 bottles or red and white here.

Not being one to like waste I started to freeze it after 2 days of him opening it. I've defrosted a glass and seriously it is rank, It has a frozen taste to it IYSWIM.

I dont think its even good for cooking.

Who does this and is there a foolproof way of doing it so it dosen't taste so BLEURGH!

I freeze red wine in icecube trays and then just chuck a few cubes in when I'm making a casserole.

Then again, I don't like red wine to drink, so I'm probably not v fussy about the taste!
