Can I use frozen leeks for potato and leek soup?

Just that really, don't usually make soup so no idea if frozen will be ok or not? Found an easy-looking recipe so thought I'd have a go and have a random (accidentally ordered frozen when I wanted fresh) bag in the freezer I want to use up Blush It's the chunky sort of soup if that makes any difference, not the creamy, blended sort.

Yes of course.

Yes you can. Frozen leeks may lose a bit of their texture but that doesn't matter if you are making soup.

Lovely, thanks both, google wasn't helpful!

I don't see why not. No grit to worry about either!

You can use any vegetable frozen for soup or in a stew. (Except oven chips)

I bet oven chip soup would be delicious if you didn't know it was oven chips.

😁

You definitely can but be warned - frozen leeks tend to be heavier on the harder, harsher green bits than the soft sweet white bits.
