Isn't anyone doing white chocolate easter eggs with raspberry this year??????

Ok, a bit of a rant but last year I had a lovely white chocolate easter egg with dried raspberry bits in it.
Lovely, only problem was DD loved it too, and ate most of it.
This year she has asked for the easter bunny to bring her an egg "like mummy's last year" and guess what?
Cannot find a single white egg (or white chocolate anything) with dried raspberry bits...they are all now "dried raspberry and coconut". DD and I HATE coconut!!!!

Can anyone help or shall my DD think the easter bunny has sold her short, boo hoo!!!!

Desperate.

I think I've seen them in Tesco's.

Or Harrods: Harrods Easter egg collection
Find something unique to put on your table this Easter at Harrods, where a premium collection of organic chocolate eggs will be available. There are three flavours and two different sizes, all in gorgeous modern designs. Choose from a milk chocolate and orange burst, dark chocolate and raspberry swirl or white chocolate and raspberry polka dots.

Thanks, I have looked...and they are almost, but not quite there....sigh...so think I will have to make my own...that will be fun, as I am a complete klutz with things like that.
At least I can then avoid having to break the news that the easter bunny has been baked in a pie by Mrs McGregor

Making your own is good fun, but I think the key is patience - let each layer set, and don't make layers too thick. Trim untidy bits with a hot sharp knife.

Miggsie · 03/03/2008 21:18

The Harrods kids hamper is great!
But no raspberry bits, I shall insert some with a knife!

So how do you make your own easter eggs then?

rantinghousewife · 03/03/2008 21:22

Oh Easter egg making is so much fun, especially when you've got dcs to entertain.
You just buy the moulds and some decent chocolate and melt the choc over some not too hot water (I bring the pan up to a simmer and take it off the heat, put chocolate in a bowl on top)

Miggsie · 03/03/2008 21:23

Lakeland do the moulds, I have some bunny moulds from last year but DD ate the chocolate from the bowl and we did not have enough to make the bunnies completely, so they were a bit lean!

...and I have found a site that does freeze dried raspberries!
Hurrah, so home made easter eggs and a kitchen splattered with chocolate then!
