Use by today meat - can I cook it and serve it later?

Just that. I know I can't keep it uncooked for more than a day or so but if I cook it will it last longer? I got a couple of bargain yellow sticker packs of meat today but my freezer is full. I wouldn't risk cooking it at the weekend but can I cook it tomorrow and serve it then instead?

What meat is it?

I am usually the first to ignore a use-by date but that would be a stretch for me I think. Can you sacrifice something from the freezer? Or take it out of the plastic case wrap in clingfilm and squeeze it in?

Yes just cook it tomorrow.
Nothing terrible is going to happen to it overnight.
When it's cooked, any harmful bacteria will be destroyed so will be fine. If you're not going to serve it immediately after cooking, it'll be fine in the fridge for a couple of days or so.

Totally fine if it's not already off. In fact it's probably safer than freezing it then defrosting and cooking.

Thank you! I've taken something out of the freezer to defrost in the fridge and put it in it's place. I'll cook that Thursday and serve it Saturday, will that be ok?
