Authentic chicken biryani recipe needed

Anyone got a really delicious, authentic chicken biryani recipe (to impress a date, hah) that they've tried and tested? I'm actually of Indian heritage but not the greatest at cooking, plus my family is vegetarian so don't have much experience cooking meat.

TIA!

I've made this one when entertaining and it was fabulous. A touch time consuming with the various elements, though not difficult. I really like Chetnas recipes, I think she has other biriyani recipe variations on her channel too. I'm presuming it's fairly authentic as she is Indian, and from my understanding of biriyani it seems 'right', but I'm not Indian myself.

Another one would be this one by Monica (The Spice Cub). Not tried it but I get on well with her recipes, which tend to be authentic, and this one includes the traditional pastry lid.

Also you can used the crispy fried onions that you buy in the supermarket for ot to save time frying your own.. ( a tip I got from a MN poster- really works ! )

I second Chetna's food and channel- great videos, have improved my curry offerings significantly - her Butter chicken is fab.

Thanks all! Will check these out. If anyone has any general tips and tricks you've picked up from your own cooking adventures, please do let me know as it'll be my first time making it.

I really like the Dishoom one. I'm not of Indian heritage, but I used to live in India, so I'm pretty fussy.

The most important trick is to not overcook the rice in the pre-cooking stage. I cook it even less time than the Dishoom recipe says. It should still be quite firm.

Don't skimp on the butter/cream/saffron over the top or the cranberries as this is what makes it very biriyani like.

I also make this same recipe with paneer (I bake the paneer first to brown it, though you could sautee too).
