Meals for groups whilst on holiday

Hi all. I am looking for ideas for party food/ meals for groups. We are going to Spain next month and staying in euro camp style chalets with friends and family. We have discussed bbq's and each family taking it in turns to host a evening meal. I'm hoping weather is good and we can eat outside. I need ideas for dishes that will feed a big group, will appeal to most and easy to cook- I don't want to be in kitchen all evening. Thanks

Paella, you can do it on the BBQ, and raid the supermarket for tapas / charcuterie

Make it in the morning/afternoon.Leave out the olives and serve in a bowl on the side
Bowl of mixed salad
Crusty bread
Can also do some potatoes if you want

BBQs and salads are easy, weather dependent. if there's an oven in the accommodation, I'd do marinaded chicken - marinade thighs and drumsticks the night before/the morning/five minutes before, then put in a large dish in the oven and cover with a lid or tinfoil and cook on 170 for about 40 minutes. Then when you're ready, stick on BBQ to finish cooking and get nice and browned.

If the weather isn't nice, do it entirely in the oven - if you use the oven at 170 or 150 fan, it doesn't matter if you don't know the oven well - I'd do it uncovered for around 40 minutes, turn, then another 20 minutes.

If weather isn't great, and you want to cook on the stove top, spaghetti bolognaise or meatballs isn't fancy but it does the job and usually goes down well and is relatively easy to make.

Or, for something lighter, roast a huge roasting tray of tomatoes with some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic (and any herbs you might have lying around) then serve on pasta with pesto, avocado and feta or goats cheese.

Can you say what the cooking facilities are likely to be? I've never been to a Euro camp. How many are you likely to be feeding?
