My two have tea at nursery at 3.30 but then definitely need something around 5.30 at home. My toddler is in a super picky phase and my baby is CMPA. I’m struggling with ideas!!

if they've had a lot of food there I just tend to offer mine a picky plate of a carb (crackers, wrap, bread) cheese, ham, pepper/tomato/cucumber or a bowl of porridge

If nursery say he didn't eat much then he just had a smaller portion of dinner with us at 6.

Same, we just do fridge bits or pesto pasta. Me and DH will cook ourselves dinner and sometimes they fancy a bit of that but often they are stuffed from nursery.

Something on toast - beans, avocado, cheese, eggs, tinned tomatoes, peanut butter
Or toasted sandwich.
Cream cheese bagel
Crudités, breadsticks, hummus, guacamole
Fritata (ho5 or cold)
Falafel and toasted pita strips
Cheese and crackers
Small jacket sweet potato with cheese, tuna, coleslaw
Make up some skewers with chicken breast and veg, again suitable hot or cold.
Filled wraps
Or wraps made into pizza
Tuna pasta salad.

Scrambled eggs.
Beans on toast.
Leftovers from your mea the night before
Soup and sandwiches
Cereal is a good one if you're in a hurry and they just need a bit of something

What are you having for dinner? That. Or if you tend to cook two rounds of dinner, just save what you had the night before for them the next day. In my experience, the 'tea' served at nursery is made for a mouse. Like 2 crackers and a few slivers of apple, which most kids don't seem to eat anyway. Mine always came home and had a snack and then had a full cooked dinner a bit after that.

I just gave mine a bowl of yogurt after nursery. Perhaps the nursery we used was more generous than many but they got breakfast, snack, 2 course lunch, snack and tea which seemed to be enough.

Mine get ‘snack’ at 3pm but sometimes that’s sandwiches/baked potato etc. I still just make my dinner and give them that, albeit they sometimes don’t eat much but we’re all sitting at the table. On nursery days I’ll maybe choose a lighter dinner or something that’s more of a ‘help yourself if you want more’ like a pasta or something like that.
