Low sugar yoghurts for toddler

Hi,
My daughter likes yoghurts with fruit taste ( not bits in them). My question is: which yoghurts contain the least amount of sugar? (I go to either Lidle, Tesco or Sainsburys), thanks

Buy some frozen fruit that she likes and puree it (push through a sieve if necessary). Add it to plain full fat Greek yoghurt.

Petit filous do sugar free fromage frais pots, or the collective do squeezy pouch yoghurts with no sugar. So frustrating that most of the kids yoghurts have sugar in, seems completely unnecessary!

Two vallwy or Rachel's organic is what I gave mine. The other kids ones are just full of weird crap

Sorry typos, Yeo valley

I agree - so much cheaper to just buy greek yog and add some fruit puree. Even the ones that say "no added sugar" are sweetened with something like concentrated grape juice (ie sugar).

Also interested in the answers to this. I have been mixing fruit puree or mashed fruit with Greek yoghurt which is great at home but it would be nice to have easier to serve yoghurt to use as a snack while out and about.

If using fruit puree you can make it in bulk and freeze it - I used the excess purees I made at the beginning of weaning to make fruit yoghurt as my DD wasn't eating purees for long. I have been keeping a few favourites in the freezer.

You could make up the yoghurt mix and then put it into a reusable pouch?

If yogurt is a pudding, is a spoonful of sugar or honey so bad? Different if a between meals snack - some fruit such as banana and mango are sweeter than others.

Agree

So many low sugar options have artificial sweeteners which I would avoid

Plain Greek style yoghurt is best.

Plain Greek style yoghurt is best.

Just to add another level of complexity to things anything which says Greek style needs the ingredients checked - the style bit is often adding thickeners to mimic the twice strained consistency of actual Greek yoghurt.

Thanks everyone for your messages. My daughter has never liked plain yoghurt, which made the process of finding a less sugary yoghurt harder, but I hadn’t thought of adding the fruit ourselves. Great idea!
