Having scones, jam and cream. Couldnt get clotted so got extra thick double.

Do I literally whisk it to thicknen it?

It should be thick enough to spread already

Yes just whisk it if you feel it needs to be thicker.

You can do it now and keep it in the fridge, or just whisk it fresh. It'll take five minutes if you've got an electric handwhisk.

I have found the extra thick to be quite “set” so wouldn’t whisk. If it’s too runny then whisk it up. No need to sweeten it.

It's fine as it is. If anything, mixing it up in any way might thin it, as, like a pp said, it's quite solid in the tub.

Just to confirm, that's what I use for scones with jam and cream every time. I don't buy clotted cream. Just extra thick, spooned straight out of the tub into a bowl for people to take what they want and dollop it on their scone.
