Does anyone have this cook book and do you rate it ? I loved the food in the restaurants but not sure how much of that features in this book ?

So I don't have this myself, but a friend has both this and the first one - I think the first cookbook (the one just called Comptoir Libanais) has more of the stuff from the restaurant. The second one (the express one) is more homestyle cooking, lebanese inspired kind of thing so easier to cook at home in the UK but not as "authentic" perhaps. And not with all the favourites from the restaurant. He says he doesn't use either of them as much as he thought and suggested the Persiana books by Sabrina Ghayour.

But if I were you, if you like Lebanese/Levantine cooking I'd buy Claudia Roden's book Med which came out last year and is amazing. Or Jerusalem or Falastin by the Ottolenghi guys. Absolutely stunning food and v reliable recipes.

Thank you this is great advice and I will take a look at those recommendations. I have Feast by Sabrina Ghayour which is lovely but not really everyday food.

on amazon you can normally have a look at the first few pages of a book before buying, often but not always, for cook books this means you can peruse the contents, might be worth seeing if this is possible.

Your local library should be able to get it for you, and you can try it out.

Thanks all. Great idea about the library. Try before you buy !
