Baking trays?

Hi all,
Please tell me which baking trays you use. We had tefal ones about 4 years ago but they don't seem to make them anymore, we have tried loads since including Lakeland. They all either rust/non stick peels off, non stick isn't non stick or they go manky very quickly.
Please help as I am wasting so much money and I'm getting frustrated!
Thanks!

Samuel Groves Mermaid range, but VERY expensive & can't go in the DW because they warp. They are not coated as such, but are non-stick if treated as per instructions.
DH put my original baking tray in the DW, & I threatened divorce if he did it again.
The replacement is many years old, & looks as good as new - unlike DH.

I bought these after reading about them on here - best trays I’ve ever bought - clean easily and a few months on and they are as good as new

We use the actual Pyrex (glass) ones, which are great. If you need metal ones, the vitreous enamel ones don't rust or peel, but can be a bit expensive.

Thanks all. I will check all of them out. We line our rusty trays with non stick sheeting but I can't bear it any longer. They are just manky. I do need them to be non stick which is why I don't want Pyrex glass ones. I use their bowls/containers for lasagnes etc but I want good quality non stick trays. My life will not be complete until I find some! 😬

I use circulon ultimum from Lakeland. I put them in the dishwasher so they don’t last forever, approx 3-4 years before they go manky, but are good while they last.

I use enamel ones now. Total game changer

I avoid non stick because of toxins and I don't want to eat the flakes when the coating breaks down. I have a mix of alternatives:

Pyrex trays - roast vegetables, granola and anything like oven chips that adult kids heat up. Pyrex dishes with lids for lasagnes etc that are going in the fridge or freezer.

Enamel - I have pie dishes that I use for pies, crumbles etc.

Cast iron skillet/carbon steel frying pan - both for use on hob, but they go in oven too. I used to make pizzas in them, but I now use a pizza steel for that.

Anodised cake tins for cakes

Stainless steel - these are my go-to trays for cookies, roast potatoes etc. Roasting tins from Ikea for focaccia, rolls etc

Scoville. Asda have them. I think they are available elsewhere too. Very good. I always use baking parchment on them to as DH has coeliac and so I use the baking parchment to avoid cross contamination.

Another vote for mermaid, although I put mine in dishwasher as I didn't know you weren't supposed to. They seem fine. One comment from John Lewis employee when I said how pricey they are was that the 'proper' ones are slightly different to the 'special purchase' ones which they gave in the seasonal sales from time to time. Pay full price. You won't regret it.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/06/2023 07:59

Another vote for Scoville. They really are the Holy Grail. Non stick, good quality, long lasting, easy to clean - can go in the dishwasher but it says they last longer if hand washed, but it's really easy to do after a soak and I say that as someone who puts everything in the dishwasher usually.

As well as Asda, you can also get them from Argos and they have frequent sales, so a large oven tray is currently under £10 at Asda.

@queenofthebongo Agreed, Tefal trays are the best! I've had a shallow tray & a cake dish for about 20 years, and they are still good as new, & never stick.

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 10/09/2023 12:30

Got some Scoville trays from Dunelm recently. They were a bit pricey for me, but definitely worth it. No rust and non-stick.

@queenofthebongo I've just had a look on Amazon, and they do still make genuine Tefal baking trays! They have a number of different types- shallow, deep, rectangular, round, you name it. They mostly cost around £15-30.
