Homemade smoothies

I've just taken delivery of a large freezer and have space to keep frozen fruit and veg and even smoothie ingredient packs.

What are your favourite smoothies and how do you make them?

I have dug out an old nutribullet to do the mixing with.

I went through a smoothie phase - one banana, couple of spoonfuls of plain yogurt and then frozen berries - mixed ones from supermarket - and milk to thin.

I would add grapes, pears etc if they needed to be used up and some chia seeds too. Husband prefers mango, apple and spinach. I like using something frozen because it saves having to chill it before drinking.

I’m not very imaginative but what we have a few times a week is banana whizzed with oats, peanut butter, honey and some cocoa and either dairy or oat milk. Filling, nutritious, everyone likes it.

Banana, raspberries & pear mixed with plain yoghurt and oats plus water. You can add honey to make it sweeter.

I just chuck in a banana, some frozen berries and milk. Simple is best!

If you want to increase your veg without tasting it try frozen cauliflower and either fresh or frozen spinach. Sounds weird but you really can't taste them. One of my faves is cauliflower, spinach, banana, and one other fruit either strawberries, mango, pineapple or pear with some pecans, almond butter, almond milk and milled seeds ( I use any of the Linwoods mixes you can get in all supermarkets) - keeps me full until lunchtime
