I just CAN'T do it
and I am a pretty competent cook. The mixture always seems wrong and I can never get them thin enough. I use this recipe although without the asafoetida because I don't like the flavour-although I don't think it adds anything to the cooking process itself so shouldn't matter.
I go through a lot of poppadums and they're not the cheapest item. My local asda used to sell the uncooked ones which are much better value, but they've stopped stocking them and I don't shop at asda for anything else so wasn't ideal.
