Kenwood chef mixer owners/users

I have just bought a used Kenwood chef, model KM336. (I wanted to try my hand at baking bread but didn’t want to splash out on a fancy new mixer if I wasn’t realistically going to use it much.)

However, I have unpacked it to find the K beater and Dough mixer attachments are rather scratched. The coating has come off quite a bit.
Are these safe to use?
Bits won’t come off while mixing?

Thanks

Where did you buy it from?.I have a Kenwood Chef bought almost 2 years ago from Costco, the dough mixer attachment and K beater are made of stainless steel, no scatch or thing come off so far. Maybe you should get in touch with the customer service.

I have a 1962 model 😂 so not quite the same but have discovered while solid, the attachments do not like going in the dishwasher - they're much happier being handwashed but I've already inflicted some damage by initially dishwashing.

No bits come off while using them though, and I'm still alive despite it being considerably older than I am so hopefully yours will be the same. I think you can buy new attachments for the more modern machines if you want to though!

(I am planning to strip and rebuild the motor and repaint it at some point but can't resist making cakes in between!)

@cindy0820 yes I’ve noticed the more recent models have stainless steel attachments but mine is about 10 years old and has the non stick ones.

@hilariousnamehere 1962! Good to hear yours is still going strong! Yes, i think the dangers is when scratched
non stick is heated up like in saucepans. I will keep an eye out for new attachments though.

Mine are stainless steel. I wouldn’t use cracked non stick ones. Sorry.
