Will whipped double cream curdle in a curry?

I think so, but tempted to try anyway?

Forogt to save a bit of double cream from a pudding for a curry, I only need a little bit once it’s finished cooking, but it’s already whipped up!

Oh God, I think so. Have you got any yogurt?

I don't think it would curdle. I remember my mum occasionally doing it when I was a child. From what I remember it was perfectly fine.

You could always warm it separately, mix in a wee bit of the sauce from the curry, and all being well add the mixture to the curry. Nothing ventured nothing gained

Thanks all. Good shout on trying a little bit first.

I do have yogurt, but only Fage 0% Greek and it won’t be the same 😫

I'd mix the cream with the yoghurt and a some flour mixed with water to stabilise it.

I did the slurry and it was ok! If I’d have plonked the whipped cream in to the main pot of meat and veg I think I’d have had a problem though as it did need some whisking!

Glad the curry's been saved 😁. Bon appetite!

caringcarer · 26/04/2023 18:13

No, not if you stir in and just simmer. If you go faster than a simmer then yes.

That's good news. Enjoy the curry 😊
