I really need some inspiration for new recipes, could you please tell me what your favourite cookbook is?

My past favourites are The quick roasting tin and Comptoir Libanais.

Can I be greedy and have 2? If so, it would be Falastin and Simple. If I can only have one then it would be Falastin.

Nigella’s Feast. Both one of my most used but also a pleasure to read.

Delia Smith - Winter Collection because it reminds me of my lovely mum who passed away

wineymummy · 23/04/2023 20:11

Anna Jones all the way. We're now vegetarian but eat her food all the time.

wineymummy · 23/04/2023 20:12

NOT vegetarian

You can have as many as you like! Thank you for your suggestions

I have so many cookbooks! The ones that I’ve used the most by far over the past year are my curry guy bible and my Ziangs Chinese takeaway cookbook. My all time favourites though are anything by Nigella or Nigel Slater. I’ve got most of their books and enjoy their writing so much.

DorisParchment · 23/04/2023 22:26

I stopped counting my cookery books when I got to 500. Will have a think.

50 great curries of India by Camilla Panjabi. Everything works.

toastofthetown · 23/04/2023 22:37

East by Meera Sodha is my most used cookbook. The recipes are perfect for midweek cooking - quick, work reliably, clear instructions, mostly without non-specialty ingredients and healthy.

Mezcla by Ixta Belfrage is also great. Everything I’ve made has been wonderful.

One: Pot, Pan, Planet from Anna Jones is a new book to my collection, but I’ve been really enjoying the recipes so far. The recipes are designed around a one pot or pan concept, so might appeal if you like the roasting tin books. I picked it up free on Prime Reading, so if it’s still there and you have Amazon Prime then could be worth checking out.

Oh god yes. Amazing!

I don't enjoy cooking but love the Bored of Lunch books.

Tintackedsea · 24/04/2023 00:12

Falastin and East are both excellent.

Any Rick Stein but really love India.

Any Diana Henry but particularly Oven to Table.

Jerusalem and Simple by Ottolenghi.

Taverna by Georgina Hayden.

Totally depends on what I want to cook. If it's a "classic" I check Delia and Felicity Cloake.

Cannot be doing with Nigella.

I came on to say exactly this.

Pinch of Nom books are my to go to for recipes on a daily basis. Other than that I look up recipes on line to search what I can do with food stuff I have I have in my cupboard/freezer

Ipadannie · 24/04/2023 00:58

Bad Girl Bakery cookbook as recommended by Nigella. It would mean every meal is cake but that's a win win!
