What else would it need to yum it up a bit? I'm rubbish at concocting things

Yes, if you're not sure just try on a small portion of pasta. Sundried tomato is a strong flavour.

If you eat meat bacon or chorizo would be good. Do you have any garlic or herbs?

GoodVibesHere · 15/04/2023 18:58

Yes it sounds nice to me, I'd add olives and/or chopped red peppers maybe.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 15/04/2023 18:59

Plenty of black pepper too

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 15/04/2023 19:05

Pesto is nice with philadelphia and pasta.

Mumski45 · 15/04/2023 19:05

You could add a bit of pesto to that as well if you like it.

Mumski45 · 15/04/2023 19:06

@GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut you beat me to it😁

lampshadesally · 15/04/2023 19:20

Thanks all!!! I've just chucked it all together, so it's a combo of Philadelphia, garlic, sundried tomatoes, pesto and a bit of cheese sprinkled over the top. It's taste so nice! I'm thinking it'll do my lunch on Monday for work ( if there's any left 🙈)

Roast in the oven, a block of feta, cherry toms, garlic, fresh basil in olive.
stir into cooked pasta.
Plenty for x1 lunch and a dinner (for 1 person obviously) for less than £5.

I find too much soft cheese a bit sickly so like to "water it down" with a bit of cream (that probably sounds sicklier but it isn't!)

ginislife · 15/04/2023 19:31

I fry a finely chopped onion and some garlic, tip in the carton of Philadelphia- plain or garlic & herbs - a handful or 2 of frozen peas and bubble it up until the peas are cooked. You could add some chopped asparagus as well. Thin it down with a bit of cream or crème fraiche or a splash of white wine. Stir into cooked pasta.

I use milk so it it’s a bit runnier.

Finely diced onion, garlic, chicken stock and creme fraice (or 50/50 with cream cheese) is a really quick and easy sauce too, really nice with prawns or chicken and tagliatelle. Throwing in some chorizo never hurts either!

Newuser82 · 15/04/2023 19:53

I think that sounds lovely!

TiredandLate · 15/04/2023 19:53

I made it tonight with chicken and added some lemon and honey, delicious.

MrsCharlesFrere · 15/04/2023 20:03

Several times a week I eat

Pasta
Sundried tomatoes
Asparagus / tender stem broccoli
Parmesan

It is the easiest meal but so tasty!

Hummusanddipdip · 15/04/2023 20:08

I reguarly have sundried tom's and philadelphia on toasted bagels when I'm not in the mood to cook.

Tonight I've put sausages, tinned toms, garlic and mixed frozen veg in with some pasta and chedder/mozzarella mix for a pasta bake, hopefully have enough to portion up some tubs for lunches

Frazzled1502 · 16/04/2023 22:08

I do pasta with Sundried toms, crème fraiche and red pesto, fresh basil and some Parmesan.
