Stilton

I have a little wedge of Stilton that I bought as part of a cheese board selection. I haven't had much blue cheese and am not entirely sure I like it.
Where to start? On a cracker? Soup? Toasties?

Crackers and some chutney! and a fat glass of red wine

All of the above, or inside a thick steak or pork chop.
Eat it at room temperature. It should be rich and creamy and tangy. If you eat it chilled it will be tangy and fusty and the texture will be all wrong.

I love a broccoli and Stilton soup. You don't need too much in that though. A small amount crumbled into a macaroni cheese or lasagne is amazing too but mostly I devour it on crackers. I wasn't sure I liked it at first either, but I started with creamier blues and then wanted the stronger tasting ones ones I was used to those.

Use it for cheese on toast with some onion jam underneath. Mmmmm!

It's great melted on sweet potato fries. One of my favourite things to eat!

It's nice with pears. Or with a bit of honey drizzled on and some toasted walnuts. But definitely let it get to room temperature. You don't need much (well I do as I love it) but a little goes a long way.

Try it melted on a steak or burger.
It's also really good in pasta dishes like this pasta with Stilton, broccoli and bacon.

Went for a toastie with a bit of double gloucester. It was fairly inoffensive, I had expected it to be a bit more exciting. Meh.
At least I know now.
