I do not think it is appropriate or healthy for an 11 year old to have this for breakfast every morning. Partner insisted it's ok so DS is now having it every morning

I think it's not good at all & not heathy.

Am I wrong?
I just want son to have a good diet- a decent meal before leaving for sch

I do not thing these breakfast biscuits are ideal for breakfast or are they?

Nutrition aside, how is that enough calories, even in a whole pack?

It’s a cultural thing, very common for breakfast in Spain.

At that age I'd been skipping breakfast because I didn't fancy eating or sometimes having cookies dipped in tea for a couple of years.
I think those are a better option. You wont be able to police his diet for much longer.

They’re not great but my kids have gone through stages of only eating these or similar. Something is better then nothing if nothing is the alternative.

My preteen dd is very slender and just has no appetite in the mornings. I would rather she eats something, than nothing at all. She eats a vitamin supplement with the biscuits and a glass of milk or juice.

She also eats fruit at her morning break, and plenty of fruit and veg the rest of the time. So I don’t let myself get too excited about it, much as I’ve advocated a dozen other delicious and healthier breakfasts!

Could they be supplemented by having some plain yogurt with them? For some actual protein to keep them fuller and fuel for teen body.

What’s it replacing? If it’s replacing most breakfast cereals (like Shreddies or Crunchy Nut) then it’s probably not much worse. If it’s replacing avocado and eggs on rye sourdough then it’s comparatively much less nutritious. Personally I don’t think it’s a great breakfast, but I’m a breakfast skipper. As a child when I had to eat breakfast before school I would have preferred biscuits to most other breakfast options. I think because they’re simple, predictable, dry and crunchy.

my DCs stopped eating well at breakfast at about that age. it's not ideal but better than nothing. you'll find your kids will start refusing breakfast and buying rubbish on the way to school if you are too strict. my DS ate 4 bourbons for breakfast throughout her teenage years, she's relatively healthy now as an adult
