if you cook 2 smaller meat casseroles v.one large one do you reduce cooking time?

I don't have ,and would struggle to lift ,a dish that would hold 2kg .So I divide into 2 which I cook at the same time .
But my last effort (beef shin ) was overcooked.

Yes you should reduce the cooking time if the volume of the dish is less than the recipe instructions are for, so if you have two smaller dishes they won't take as long.

Thank you @marylou25 .I don't suppose you could give a guidestimate as to how much to reduce ?Would it be half the time as per situation above ?ie 2 x 1kg dishes rather than 1x2kg ?

I'd give it more than half but it's really just trial and error, keep an eye on them from half way mark and make a note then when cooked of how long they took for future reference.

I’d cook beef shin in my slow cooker - it’s a 6l size. Because it sits on the worktop there’s no lifting in and out of the oven, plus it works out much cheaper to cook.
