he he custy.

Just remember to pronounce it "minnit" not "my-newt" (as my friend once did in a restaurant). Come to think of it though, it was minute when it turned up.

So from what I can tell, BTW I'm a Canadian, everything that I've seen they look very similar to what we call at home a Beef Dip, which is typically just thin sliced beef with sauteed onions, sometimes some bell peppers on a 6-8in sub bun and with a side of ojeux (beef stock/drippings) from cooking the beef and you're supposed to dip the sandwich in it as you eat it.

They are usually very tasty, there are also slightly similar sandwiches which at home are referred to as Philly Cheese Steak, which is basically the same thing but with a boat load of cheese and a specific mayo style sauce on it that I'm not entirely sure what it is but is also quite good.

I had a cafe at a golf club. I used to buy steak Canadians, which where raw, very thinly sliced pieces of meat from Makro.
They were fried for a minute a side, drained on kitchen roll and served on a bun with salad and fried onions.
They were very popular.

I am a Canadian - 75 years old and never heard of it. Our steaks are huge, but this sounds yummy. Must try to make some!

I have seen these on the menu in a northern UK town - always wanted to try one!
