Absolutely cold from fridge butter grated into bowl for light and melt in the mouth scones, pastry, dumplings etc. Works like a dream. And cuts down on handling the mixture.

Tempted to have a go... but I don't actually like clotted cream much. There's always the sultana option. 😃

The clotted cream is to have with them, so it's optional. Plain with butter and/or jam would be lovely too, or with a slice of mature cheddar.

Used the BBC recipe. Half quants, 50 mm cutter seems small, the little one is about 50, I used the top lid of the blender, and the others I used a tumbler. The flat top eludes me, but they are beautifully light, and as said, nothing like doughy bought scones. Thanks! 🥚

Dunno how that egg got there...

Ordered these bad boys from EvilAmazon yesterday, arrived today. Bigger ones will be great for muffins.
