Many years ago I went to a bring and share meal. Someone bought a delicious savoury dish that I'd love to recreate but not sure where to start. I think the person who brought it was Polish.

It filled a traybake tin / roasting tin.
It had the texture and depth of a scone.
It had something like minced beef at the bottom of the tin, it was only a scant amount of meat but flavoursome.

Anyone any ideas what this could be?

Not polish but some kind of cobbler?

Something like this?

We often make Bobotie but that's a South African dish. Delicious though!

Thanks for your suggestions. No it wasn't wet at the bottom like a stew, it was dry. So a bit like minced left over roast beef at the bottom, but thinly spread.
I know it doesn't sound appetizing but we all scoffed it and admired it.

Perhaps it was a homemade meat paste with scone on top. It's on my mind again because it would make a fabulous budget / good way to use up small amounts of meat/ alternative to sandwiches meal.
