Do you have a slow cooker? Easiest way to do the prep, recipe online google frozen oranges marmalade, cook them in slow cooker or saucepan if you must, much easier to scoop out insides and cut up the soft peel. Then you just do the finishing off boiling with sugar in a saucepan. Slightly shorter time obviously if not frozen but I always buy extra and freeze and make fresh batches few times a year.

Thank you, I had no idea it could be made in a slow cooker. And mine is a big one, so perfect.

I've done this recipe from Marguerite Patten (but did the oranges in the pressure cooker instead) was very successful. I did one batch with just white sugar and one batch half white half dark brown sugar to make a really dark marmalade.

Marguerite Patten - I've come over all nostalgic Smile

So the trick is to cook the oranges whole (by whatever means) then proceed?

Tesco recipe is easy. Don't put it in the jars when it's very hot as the shreds will float.

@redspottedmug I even have the Jams, preserves and chutneys book by her!

I would definitely cook the sevilles whole as its far easier (my in-laws take off peel and remove pith far more effort needed!)

St Marguerite of Patten is ALWAYS my go-to for preserves, too ❤️

Felicity cloake perfect Seville orange marmalade on the guardian website. It's a winner.

Don't forget to put two oranges to one side for making Seville Orange gin!

(pare away all peel, leaving the white pith behind. Poke the peel down the neck of a cheap supermarket gin and leave for 6 months. You're welcome)

Gin you say? I've got a bottle of vodka floating around...
