child friendly cafe/ pub/ restaurant in London?

if any one has any suggestions, would love to hear them. Looking for somewhere where the adults can have a decent chat and catch up without having to a) strap the kids in their chairs or b) chase after them over tables, under chairs and between waiting staff's legs.

Somewhere with a play area would be ideal. Otherwise, at least space to roam safely.

NOT McDonalds. But thanks in advance to whoever would have suggested it.

have also posted in Days Out - apologies to anyone who reads this twice

There is a Zilli in Covent Garden (not sure of address, Bow St maybe?) which is very child-friendly, last time I went (on a Saturday) my nieces were entertained downstairs making mini pizzas. It is a bit pricey though.

Just looked it up, tis Zilli Fish Too on Wild St.

That Place on the Corner, Newington Green, not central, but easy to get to on 73 bus from town. It's a children's cafe with dressing up cupboard, really good kids menu, books for them to read and a play area. They do a story in the afternoon as well, art club, music and movement etc

Newington Green is Islington/Hackney borders in case you're not familiar with area.

Inn the Park in St James's Park if you want something upmarket but child friendly. In the middle of the park so you can let them run around outside a bit though difficult to stop them going out of sight if they are young. Always full of families with little ones, children's menu etc but it is £££

Hi, I'm the co-owner of That Place On The Corner, thanks to the previous Mum who recommended us, if you are looking for somewhere where the adults can catch up, and the children can play, a guilt free cappuccino & great food with a childs menu that even includes an organic home-made baby blend then this is the best bet. There are places in London which are child friendly, but the difference with us is that we are a Children's cafe (no unaccompanied adults)when the eating is done the children can have fun, dress up, have a story, make new friends, not sit at the table bored with paper and crayons. Hope this doesn't sound too much like a sales pitch, but we are a new business, set up by 2 mums, we are very proud of the space that we have created, and the support we have from our customers, if you decide to visit us, you and your children will be made to feel most welcome.

Hi,

I was just wondering how your child friendly cafe was going? I am considering a similar idea in Doncaster.

Any advice would be great.

Kind Regards

I heard about a mums' brunch event in Islington next Tuesday at a pop-up cafe called The Good Egg...

You get a brunch and coffee plus free egg & soldiers for your children when you book online
