I don't have a blender and think they're a pain to clean. Plus they often don't seem to blend powerfully enough, or they leak when you fill them above half. But dh would like one when he cooks. I'm the one who likes to research these items.

Please can someone recommend me a blender to change my mind?

I have a wand attachment on my mini chopper and a a big Magimix but looking for a blender.

It would be used for soups and sauces rather than smoothies.

Also, they seem more expensive than I was expecting, I thought I'd be able to get a good one for about £50?

Tia

Really good blenders are expensive. If it's just for soups etc, I'd just go for a hand blender.

Bit more than your budget but I use a Nutri Ninja. My little one is on a blended diet fed via a tube into their tummy so mine gets used for every snack and meal and copes well.

Kenwood have a great rep for these and mine has never let me down.

Blenders are easy to clean. When you've finished using it, just whizz some water and a drop or two of washing up liquid in it, then empty it and whizz with just water to rinse.

Thank you all!

I do think I remember hearing that too once before actually @comeondover so thanks fine reminding me.

the Bamix stick blender is brilliant. After several Argos 20 quid run of the mill stick blenders that stopped working after a couple of years I got this one. I think it’s nearly ten years old and going strong.

I have a ninja blender and I rinse after use immediately and put it in the dishwasher but hand washing isn't bad

Thank you!

We have a kenwood glass one which means you can blend hot soups straight away. The blade at the bottom comes out which makes cleaning easy. It’s got a much greater capacity than dh nutribullet however maybe you can get larger versions of those? I remember that being quite expensive though?

You can use your Magimix to blend. Use large bowl, large blade & Blendermix ring. This gives same results. Look on Magimix website or YouTube for videos.

Oh thank you @pengymum !

Just double check the max liquid volume for your Magimix model
3200 is 1 litre liquid MAX
4200 is 1.3 litre liquid MAX
5200 is 1.8 litre liquid MAX
If you put too much in, it can sort of siphon out up & under the blade!
But is just that you have put too much in.
I measured out MAX amount of water & marked my bowl handle so I know not to go over.
But don't worry if that happens as the motor is well sealed. Just a quick wipe and all is good.

Hope that helps!

I'm waiting for my bamix to arrive. Expensive but doubt I'll ever buy another one & would rather pay more for better as I hate when things bug me after I've bought them & I had some spare cash. I've paid more for lots of attachments
