First time owner of a potato ricer…. It has two discs and for mash I’ve used the one with slight bigger holes.

Every time I press the the leaver then lift it up the disc is stick to the top bit iyswim? So I have to manually take it off so I can put it back where it should be. Very annoying indeed.

it was about £15 from Robert Dyas (Kitchen craft or Tala make)

Is there no fixture, possibly screw on and off, that holds the disks in place? What do the instructions say?

@FelicityFlops There weren’t any instructions to speak of and I can’t see any fixture. 🤷‍♀️

I have one I bought from IKEA years ago and it does the same thing.
Unfortunately, I think all of them do that.
Perhaps, put less potato in it to control it better.
I just scrape the potato off the top disk and put it in the bowl. It's still mashed.

I used to have one with a separate disc that did this, but I bought a better one
The Oxo Good Grips ricer has an integrated disc - works very well.

Yes but I think have to get the disc off to put it back in the bottom of the thing each time which is really annoying. I only put in half a potato too.

@Georgyporky I’ll have a look at the OXO one

Although mine is a faff the mash is bloody good!
