Fancy meal ideas for 2 hob stove

I only have a 2 hob stove due to renovations and my friend who is a chef is coming over.

She is so kind supportive and understanding but I feel pressure to cook something good as she's a chef.

I am excited by the idea of trying something different and ambitious but I have no oven or microwave and only have a two hob stove. Any ideas of what I can cook?

How about Osso Bucco with saffron risotto. Only need two hob rings and it’s delicious! Just some dressed rocket on the side.

thank you so much for responding. That looks so lovely but it's what she just cooked me!

Ah I realise I have linked the recipe that uses the oven - hob top one here if you ever need it www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/ossobucco/amp

How about mash as a side (add smoked garlic purée to posh it up) with the following:

Beef bourguignon
Coq au vin
Pork in prunes (honestly it’s delicious: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/braised-pork-prunes/amp)
Nigellas meatballs with pork and black pudding

Or try a paella or perhaps a tagine with cous cous (cous cous doesn’t even need a job!)

Sorry to post again- I am hungry so thinking of food too much!

I made these dishes and received a lot of compliments:

chicken and walnut dish www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chicken_walnut_and_84591/amp

lamb in honey and sherry (this is truly gorgeous) with cous cous www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/spanish-lamb-sherry-honey-peppers/amp

Venison steaks with blackberry sauce
Duck ragu

I'd stick to something you know already; attempting something new with limited facilities is a recipe for disaster.

Your friend will be grateful for anything you cook & will not be expecting anything fancy

A good risotto is always a pleasure, would that do?

I have been with just a 2 ring hob and an airfryer for ages now. Some things I have done when entertaining have been.

Crispy duck ramen
Mary Berry's tuscan chicken
Pork with cabbage, apple and mustard
Sausage and leek risotto

Less fancy maybe than you're after but still delicious. I have several chef friends though and they love nothing more than simple food like steak, a big bowl of pasta, curry's, chilli etc as they get sick of fancy dishes.
