Eating breakfast at work. What can I take?

I’m starting a new job where I start at 4am and get a breakfast break at about 7.30am.

I hate overnight oats, so what can I take instead?

I want something warm (I have a food flask) but don’t want to be cooking at 3am before I go!

we have access to a kettle & toaster but I don’t want toast every day.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Microwave porridge at 3am into food flask takes a few minutes and take toppings.

Granola, fresh fruit and yogurt.

Smoothie.

Toasted bagel, pb and banana.

Microwave some soup before you leave the house & put it in your flask. Or there’s always Pot Noodle…

Sausages

Pot of porridge where you just add boiling water ( various flavours available)

BeyondMyWits · 15/12/2022 19:13

I have a granola/oat bar with a nice big mug of tea for breakfast... easy, effortless.

After three and a half hours work, I'd just call it lunch and eat whatever you fancy.

Chinese noodles, reheated jacket potato, whatever.

AdaColeman · 15/12/2022 19:37

Noodle soup in microwave

Pouches of egg fried rice in microwave

Pouches of mixed grains or couscous in the microwave

Heat up bought ready filled wraps in microwave

Soup in a flask or microwave

Egg mug omelette cooked in microwave (I'm sure there is a little MN video showing how it's done)

Dont be limited by what is "breakfast food" just eat convenient foods that you can heat up.

Just make up a nice sandwich the night before to take with you?

OlleOskiFelle · 16/12/2022 00:17

Congee if you are OK with savoury?
It's asian rice porridge.

I make breakfast wraps. I dry fry minced pork, lean bacon, onions and any other veg I fancy. Separately scramble eggs. Cook crispy potatoes in oven. Combine together and cool.
Then scoop into wrap with some cheese.
I make 16 wraps in a go and freeze them. They are a bit like a McDonald's breakfast but much nicer and healthier and have lots of protein so keep me going all day.

Beans and poached egg in the microwave. Put the egg in a mug then cover with water and give it a minute to a minute and a half. Prick the yolk first thought to avoid it ‘exploding’. Then microwave a mini tin of beans (in a mug too) (I like the ones with mini sausages). Once the beans are warm add the egg.

I warm croissants, pain au chocolat on top of toaster

Porridge pot, add boiling water, yake berries and add or syrup

Make a bacon or sausage cob the night before then reheat in microwave

Make a sandwich or toastie and put in a toaster bag to hear at work. Also good for reheating omelette, vegetarian sausages etc

carriedout · 06/04/2023 22:50

I'd either take porridge in a food flask or any lunch food I fancy.

AltitudeCheck · 06/04/2023 22:51

Heat^

Porridge in microwave
Cereal and hot milk

Crumbcatcher · 06/04/2023 22:52

Potato waffles in the toaster, slice of cheese, delicious!

coodawoodashooda · 07/04/2023 07:41

Batch cook muffins and take one each day. Probably porridge is easier though.

Caspianberg · 07/04/2023 07:53

I would just take cold breakfast for convenience at that time in the morning. Have a hot lunch and dinner later when home.

take hot drink in flask or make there with kettle. probably take pot with Greek yogurt, granola and fruit/ compot ontop. Pastry like crossiant/ pain raisen sometimes
