Need some ideas for high calorie foods

ds1 (2yo)has been v poorly for the past 2weeks with ear and chest infections. Infact his appetite has been so poor that he's lost 0.7kg. Does anyone have any good recipe ideas for high calorie foods that are easy to digest and are tasty? He's not overly keen on pasta sadly and prefers chicken and fish to red meats. Is this the time I should be pushing complex carbs? And in which case, please can someone remind me waht they are exactly. Thank you!

When I nannied I fed the baby lots of risotto made with fresh chicken stock and enriched with double and single cream. You could also add shredded/cubed roast chicken or fish.
Also, rice pudding made with cream and cocoa powder instead of plain milk is very comforting and calory rich.
Good luck!

Risotto, yum, I wish I needed to put on some weight.

Further update.....
Terrible day y'day, both boys seemed worse. No appetite, really chesty and miserable. A big step backwards. And a major blow for me.
Today, 2 different children again, HURRAH!
ds1 had porridge for brekkie, chicken and mushroom casserole with lashings of cream and rice for lunch, plus bread and butter pud made with brioche and more custard!! No left overs, which was a pity as I had my eye on this!
2sausages and veggie risotto plus fruit and custard for pudd washed down with a probiotic yoghurt drink.
He must have drunk a litre of fluid through the day and snacked on fairy cakes!!
Surely he's putting on some of his lost weight and fighting back against these mega bugs.

Yet another trip to the dr tmr for a review so hopefully all being well we can start dropping the steroids and come off the a/biotics.

DS2 still insists on keeping me awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night, for a bit of snot and sputum clearance..... yuk, yuk! but today has been a little happier. Even managed a short trip out of the house this afternoon for the first time in a week.
Bumblelion... tried a malt milky drink y'day but unfortunately not popular. May try again tmr as he's been so much improved today. Going to try the local chemist for Virol tmr too.
Thanks everyone for their support, I really appreciate it. It's been a v long, v emotional 2 weeks but I think a pinprick of light has finally appeared at the end of the tunnel.

Honeybunny, have you thought about opening a restaurant?

Honeybunny, if dd1 ate half that amount in a day I would faint with joy and shock. And she's not even poorly. Glad to hear things are improving

Bit of a wake up call at the drs y'day. DS1 is finally getting over his PNEUMONIA!! Gulp! We knew this really, but there's nothing like having it put into words! He's still up and down, eating/not eating, big mood swings and generally wont settle to anything for v long.
ds2 not out of the woods yet either. Still on drug cocktail and v unsettled at night. 3hours awake last night again. I'm knackered depite my angel of mercy being in residence for the past few days (mum!)

What with the car breaking down at the beginning of the week and the cat needing to see the emergency vet, I've had enough! Oh and dh snoring in my ear last night during the moments I actually got to spend in bed.

P*y week or what!!
