We are going through a phase of baked pita chips or home made tortilla chips with veg and dips. Literally just cut pita into strips, spread on a baking tray and spray with oil. Bake until hard, crunchy and really crisp. They are really good. Serve with cream cheese dip, salsa, guacamole, hummus and crudités

Toast. It's brilliant.

I prefer giving my kids something readily available in kitchen for snacks. Store-bought packaged snacks are big no for me.

  1. My baby loves fruits. He eats 1 serving of Fruit snack every day. He eats almost all fruits without fuss.
  2. Dairy - Evening Snack is mostly Dairy based.
I offer him other items like dry fruits, crackers, Eggs as per his availability & his interest.

Yes, yes, yes. We all prefer this, but when your baby is bigger and you're out and about you need some snacks in the bottom of a bag. I'm not sure if you realise how condescending the providing a link is to many who have lots of experience/ their own ideas/ preferences?

OP I give you oatcakes. The mini ones in little packs are particularly fabulous for little people. No crap in them and tasty and filling. DS3 has a pack in his lunch box (as a side to the main lunch) every day still and he's 11.

With banana or peanut butter that's a lunch/ substantial snack- and for teens in a rush a bloody good breakfast on the go.

Similarly, mini bread sticks.

I totally agree with Soreen, my favourite on the go snack myself! Yum.

PS Overnight oats are the bomb in the fridge for anytime snacking- natural yogurt, oats, frozen berries, drizzle of honey/ maple syrup in a small tub- Bob's your uncle.

And buy a toastie maker when they hit high school. It will be used every day for DC/ 100s of mates who appear at random intervals. Cheese and a jar of pickle can feed a rugby team. And it takes frozen bread.
