Another Christmas pudding question

The parameters I have to meet.

cant require heating to be served

has to be able to sit out for a several hours so can’t require constant refrigeration, though I may be able to rig up some ice for a tray to keep something lightly cool for the duration of the event

has to be small individual portions

has to appeal to kids and adults

the parameters I would prefer to meet

something I can make a couple of days or more in advance. I’m very busy in the 48 hours lead up to this event and the last thing I want to be doing is making a bunch of tiny puddings

Why you ask?

because I inevitably will be assigned this to bring for the big family dinner and it is always a challenge.

It seems a tall order. Perhaps you could freeze individual cheesecakes and defrost on the day.
it’s enough to make you buy Gu.

Lemon drizzle cup cakes
Tray bake chocolate brownies, cut into portions
Mince pies (or is this too obvious?)

NoNameNowAgain · 13/11/2022 09:59

I thought of suggesting mince pies but quite a lot of people don’t like any of the traditional dried fruit things, and they should be hot really if they are your pudding. Fruit tartlets perhaps?
In this instance dessert might have been a better word in the title as it looks as though you are asking for advice on steamed Christmas puddings.

Profiterole tower. Dead easy to make in advance, then just pipe cream in on the day and pour lots of chocolate sauce over. easy peasy

Most cakes are ok at room temperature for a day or two, what about a chocolate log or similar?

Missed the individual portions, sorry.

I sometimes make a lazy & baileys brownie trifle like this one.

I'm wondering if you could make individual portions of the brownies, Malteasers & custard in disposable cups and take squirty cream to add at the last minute.
