Which airfryer

Which airfryer would you go for for a family of 4 please? I was thinking a Ninja but I don't really know where to start. Are the extra bits they can do worth it? Thanks in advance.

I think at present, it would be whatever you can actually find in stock anywhere.

They are like hens' teeth at the moment

tootiefruitie6 · 07/11/2022 06:59

@Kite22 oh really, that's interesting. Thanks

We have just got the ninja a451 and it is amazing. We wanted a large one so we can cook for the entire family. The smaller ones would be a struggle to cook enough for everyone. Husband looked at every single air fryer around and this was the one he said did the most. He is normally tight so for him to go for one of the most expensive ones surprised me.

I got the dual basket because everyone was raving about it at the time but it's difficult when you want to cook a decent amount of anything because of the size of the baskets. If I could repurchase I'd go for a single basket.

I love the dual basket as I can do two different things at once. Did a whole roast chicken in 55 mins in one side and then mixed roasted veggies in the other for 40 mins

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 07/11/2022 07:34

@GoodnightGentleBoris How do you fit a whole roast chicken in one of the baskets?!!

BayCityTrollers · 07/11/2022 07:35

I bought the 10 in 1 ninja oven as now there is only 2 of us it’s not economical to have the main oven on.

it’s an airfryer as well as lots of other things. I really like it! No heat up time and a lot of space.

Got the ninja dual one, it’s great!

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 07/11/2022 07:36

That's the one I've got. Still can't fathom getting a chicken in there unless it was absolutely tiny.

ohidoliketobe · 07/11/2022 07:37

I have the ninja foodi 14 in 1, it was expensive but between the airfry, bake, grill, sauté, slow cooker and pressure functions I have in all honesty used it every single day since I bought it. There are some in stock on the ninja website woth around £50 off St the moment as FIL has just purchased

tootiefruitie6 · 07/11/2022 07:39

Thanks all. I would really like to be able to fit a whole roast chicken in one and wondered about size actually and which I could manage it in.

I thought about the ninja but seen bad reviews about small baskets

I went for the cosori 5.5l basket for family of 4 and it's brilliant , seen lots of reviews on here about it

It was a lot cheaper too than the ninja.

Totally recommend it.

I have an Instant Vortex 5.7L. Relatively cheap, in stock with Amazon and very pleased with the results.

Like a poussin 😆

it’s a Tesco medium chicken which is 1.2-1.5kg. Try it, it fits and comes out lovely.

tootiefruitie6 · 07/11/2022 07:54

Can I ask, those that have Ninjas, do you use the extra options it does or just the airfryer? Thanks

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 07/11/2022 07:57

I've got the ninja dual and fit a whole (medium) chicken in one draw, lovely juicy roast in 55-60 minutes.

Frostine · 07/11/2022 08:05

We have the ninja 15 in 1 . Use it for multiple things . It makes lovely bread , soup , I've made a couple of cakes , pressure cooked things , done a toad in the hole , chips , roasted , everything really.

liveforsummer · 07/11/2022 08:45

I mostly use the name and air fry option of my ninja although I have used the steam setting for salmon and potatoes and they were amazing. Not been brave enough to try the pressure cook option

OP posts:
liveforsummer · 07/11/2022 09:11

Meant to say bake setting not name 😆. I also use the grill. Personally I'd pay a bit more for the 14 in 1 and get the smart lid rather than faffing with different ones with the 9 in 1 and needing extra storage too. You might even get it cheaper leading up to Black Friday

tootiefruitie6 · 07/11/2022 09:13

Thanks @liveforsummer. Good advice

@OhhhhhhhhBiscuits sorry I'm a bit overwhelmed and confused by all the different ones... can I just ask why you went for that one over one that has multi functions such as the 14 in 1? It does look good having read up on it, I just want to make sure I understand what the differences are between them. Thanks!

I have the ninja and love it. But if I bought again I would get the twin basket one

ohidoliketobe · 07/11/2022 13:56

I can fit a large chicken in my 14 in 1, its a 7.5 litre pot. Beautifully cooked on steam airfry setting

Nat6999 · 07/11/2022 14:04

I have the Ninja dual zone 400, it's taken some time to get used to but am using it more & more.
