Is it worth getting a slow cooker if cooking mainly veggie meals??

I have read a lot of threads about how great slow cookers are but are they mainly for meat dishes? I eat meat but dh is veggie so cook a lot of veggie versions of meals!

I love the idea of preparing the meal in a morning and it is ready and waiting at tea time but would it just be mush if there isnt any meat in the meal or would quorn etc work just as well??

I've often wondered the same, I'll watch this thread. I think anything with lentils would turn to mush, not so sure about quorn.

I'm veggie and have just got a slow cooker. So far, I haven't made anything that's turned to mush but I haven't actually gone out and left it all day yet - lentils were fine in it.

for veggie stews/curries/soups etc it's great, I haven't put quorn in mine before so don't know what that'd be like after cooking all day but maybe the dried soya mince would be better.

I've put Quorn chicken pieces and Quorn mince in mine and it's been fine!

We eat mostly veggie - for economy's sake - and I use that slow cooker about 4 times/week.

It's fab for making soups and broths to freeze and use as bases in curries and rice dishes, too.
