DD is attempting to make chips for the virgin fry.

What else are we cooking in our Ninjas?

Thank you I just threw them in and left them!

PinkSox Yes it’s quite big. About the width of the microwave but taller

Ah… Thank you. I guess my dream of owning a Ninja was just a dream then ☹️ My worktops all have a cupboard above them so no room to open the lid. Ah well…. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There isn’t a lid to open on top. You just open the drawers towards you.

@notapizzaeater

Thanks for posting that useful temperature conversion chart, it's very handy to have.

PinkSox · 16/10/2022 11:41

@PeloFondo Thank you for that. That doesn’t look too big at all. I’m assuming the top part is where you make stews, curry’s, chicken in sauces etc

If you don’t mind me asking how much was that please?

Mine is actually all shelves so no baskets, the door is front opening (excuse the mess I've just used it!)
I cook stuff in it that needs a container using a small Pyrex dish
Shelves are removable and it comes with a rotisserie turner thing
I think it was about £100

@FistFullOfRegrets

I low carb, DH is all about the carbs. We got a twin drawer AirFryer

I've had successes with roasting pretty much any green veg, drizzle oil and dusting of salt, delicious. Esp red or green cabbage, sprouts, celeriac, leeks (stewed in butter rather than roasted for leeks )

Add hot paprika to Mayo as a dip for the celeriac 'chips'. IMO much nicer than anything breadcrumbed that you might get in a pub.

Sometimes add lamb chops or a slice or two of bacon to the heap of veg.

DS15 is part of an online group that buy and sell goods and he got pinged by them when the Ninja website released some air fryers.

@FinallyHere

That does sound good!! 😋

BaconAndAvocado · 16/10/2022 13:27

Celeriac chips sound amazing but cutting through a celeriac is so hard and quite dangerous!
Any tips?

Thanks - so they must have got a few in for a few hours or something? I would love one but I don't know when they will be back in!

@BaconAndAvocado

Start by cutting a slice from the root end. Then slice down round towards that slice, which will provide a good, stable base.

My tip would be to use a good big knife and always cut down to a table base.

If you, like me, like smoked paprika, the Mayo / smoked paprika dip makes this incredibly moreish I could eat it every day. The celeriac also helps me ahem keep regular.
