Suggestions for a quick dinner for PILs tomorrow night

popsycal · 29/11/2004 20:20

They are popping in for dinner tomorrow on their way back from somewhere else. They don't need anything fancy but I don't want to be running around like a lunatic at tea time trying to make something.

What can I prepare/almost prepare tomorrow afternoon (no DS with me) which I can just stick in the oven when they arrive without any fuss.

No dietary requirements to think of......

My brain has ceased to work tonight....

What about beef stew and dumplings....dead easy to cook, really nourishing and really warming when the weather is freezing like it is here (currently - 1)....takes about 30 mins to prepare and 2 hours to cook, so you could prepare in afternoon and simmer it in time for your guests?

popsycal · 29/11/2004 20:41

ooooh mediagirl.......do you have a recipe...?

OP posts:
mediagirl · 29/11/2004 20:41

yes are you ready.................

AussieSim · 29/11/2004 20:41

Chicken and leek pie made with puff pastry plus vege side. You can make these in advance. You can make extra and freeze (before baking), they look impressive and taste great and take about 20min prep and 20min cook.
