Teen DS constantly wants MEAT as a snack - how to fill him up?

DS, 13, often declares that he wants MEAT (said in capitals to me!) when he is hungry. He often has dinner at his dad's and I collect him afterwards but rustling up MEAT not long before bed is not happening. What can I do to fill him up and satisfy him? He'd quite happily eat a load of toast/pasta but it feels like it is protein that he is craving.

If he liked chicken I'd just roast a chicken and let him snack on that but he isn't keen on chicken (will eat it sometimes). I'd like to keep away from processed stuff like pepperami/ham etc as I'm not convinced that would be filling enough. Any suggestions? I think his ideal would be if I put steak in front of him every night!!

Two hairy bikers do a pie making machine that works well. Maybe he could take leftovers from the fridge and bulk it up in a pie.

I think if you left him to sort himself he'd be far happier to make do with what was there in the fridge be that a cooked chicken or non meaty snacks. Can't imagine he'd be frying up his own steaks at bed time. Chinese pork steaks are nice cold though so cook a batch of them every now and then and some high quality sausages to be eaten cold. Definitely not for you to be doing for him

Teach him how to cook and he can sort himself out.

Parmalat ham, salami & bresola, I'm a massive meat eater & often snack on those, I can eat a couple of packets without trying.

I also have a skinny, hungry teen. He has his own sandwich maker and doesn't make too much of a mess in the kitchen. He also makes his own high protein smoothies. And snacks on nuts. I just made him a batch of breakfast burritos (meat, cheese, scrambled egg and salsa) that I keep in the freezer. These can be microwaved and then air fried for a few minutes to make a tasty snack. Plain Greek yogurt and fruit is also a good snack.

I've got a hollowed legged ds as well. He's the same and snacks are normally pate on thick wholemeal toast, peanut butter on toast, and home made vegetable soup with cheese on toast.

He's on school holiday at the mo, and I make a big pot of soup every two days.

He used to eat like a sparrow. Now it's more like feeding a bin lorry 😀
