does anyone live about 10 minutes away from me? I would like to bring all my food over and keep it in your garage

I can no longer store food high enough up to keep it from the grasp of dd2 (3)

we get home from nursery and she runs in shouting "Can I have a fruit bar" and starts going through cupboards

she can open the childlock on the bottom cupboard no problem so I moved it to a wall cupboard

she just gets a dining chair and climbs up

so I put it right at the top and she starts walking on the worksurface

removal of child = tantrum

I can now no longer store cereals (she gets the boxes and fetches a bowl for herself), bagels, bread, biscuits, fruit bars or raisins anywhere in the kitchen

and yes I do have a fruit bowl which is ignored

so if anyone lives in the North West of England maybe I can keep my stuff in your garage and drive over when I need it - that might be far enough till she learns to get a bus

thanks in advance

I believe Tissy has a barn. She's in Scotland, isn't she?

She offered to store the industrial quantities of Ecover washing up liquid that my halfwit DP ordered.

Too far away fro me.

So she should still have space.

Maybe she could take your dd3 as well?

HaggisNeepsandTatties · 25/01/2008 19:30

Oh dear

We have a shed

You sound tired

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:30

oh god no she is 3, she is not my third

3 kids? hhooooooh no

you need to brAVEthe tantrum

fullmoonfiend · 25/01/2008 19:31

well if you hadn't left the good old north east, I'd have been able to help

SaltireOShanter · 25/01/2008 19:31

My mum is in South West Scotland very near the border with England. Will she do?

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:32

I am constantly braving the tantrum

that is my life

god she is determined - dd1 wanders through life barely noticing what is going on

dd2 wants it her way

I am in the NW of England and have a garage - but you would have to brave the humongous spiders that live there

Twiglett · 25/01/2008 19:32

well patently I don't because you don't get that many garages where we live

Twiglett · 25/01/2008 19:33

well you do but they add a couple of hundred grand on to the cost of your house, and probably take up 90% of your garden

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:33

I never lived in the north east, you weirdo

haha reminds me of funny story about dds classmate

we were talking about speech therapy (dd1 has speech problems)

"X in my class talks funny" says dd1

yes I say, she is disabled too and it has affected her speech

"X's mummy talks funny too"

no darling X's mummy is from the North East

rofl rofl rofl

maybe you should try feeding her?

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:34

oh clever girl twiglett

I sit her in front of food three times a day

she usually runs off

or she laughs at it and starts climbing up the kitchen again

every day I make soup/ whatever, put two plates out and eat alone, while she pinballs aorund the house

I'm in the North-West but I don't have a garage. Can you fence/gate off your kitchen? When ds2 was a little bugger monkey we had to fence off the kitchen entirely (open plan kitchen/diner) as he would do things like drag a chair over to the cooker, stand on it, and turn all the gas rings on.

Capp, I feel like I am stalking you today.

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:38

lolol at gas rings

yes you are stalking me to see if I am drinking or having sex I imagine

fullmoonfiend · 25/01/2008 19:38

Sorry Capp, I had an idea you once lived in my town?? Obviously not!

Polgara2 · 25/01/2008 19:40

Weeell I'm in the North West AND I have a garage - it just doesn't have a roof on it at the moment so probably not the best storage area .

NatalieJane · 25/01/2008 19:44

I am in the North West, and have a garage, but you are pissed at me because I didn't like your coat, but I did then find you the right one, so don't know if that makes it better or not.

Oh god, wine makes my fingers go too fast....

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:46

Natalie you are my favourite mner at the moment

or you will be as long as my new coat fits

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 25/01/2008 19:48

OK you can have the garage.

Creep

SorenLorensen · 25/01/2008 19:50

Oh will all you North-west-with-a-garage-ers stop showing off. We really like searching for a parking space, not finding one and having to park three streets away...

Capp, I am drinking but not having sex - I can't type at the same time (must work on that...)

Cappuccino · 25/01/2008 19:50

Soren that is me too with the parking

ScoobyDoo · 25/01/2008 19:51

Oh blimey you have my sympathy, i don't live in scotland so can't help

DD however is 2 & she gets a little stall, stands up at the fridge/freezer & can reach about 2 shelfs up, she comes out the fridge with onions, lemons, yougurts anything she can get her hands on especially the milk!

I now have to put tape across the top of the fridge till we move but she can get in the freezer still as thats at the bottom.

She keeps taking sausages out the freezer & putting them in her doll's pram! She does this at least once a day & it is always the sausages!

TigerFeet · 25/01/2008 19:54

Sympathies Capp - my 3yo does this too

Found her sharing a packet of ham from the fridge with the cat the other day
