not if Jamie's chin is an example, no

TheFallenMadonna · 05/02/2008 14:36

He doen't dig his garden. He has that bloke to do that.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/02/2008 14:36

He doesn't do the gardening, he has a bearded gardener called Brian. Who I think you will find is rather bony.

Jamie himself spends his days lounging around on a pile of velvet cushions being fed peeled grapes by an army of minions unemployed school-leavers.

ha ha, x posts Fallen Madonna. No flies on us, eh?

Oliveoil · 05/02/2008 14:37

the gardener is a bit of a bore from what I have seen on tv

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/02/2008 14:38

kathy I got it (in waitrose on a mad moment for double the price as anywhere else - maybe that's why I am a bit bitter about it ) but have not yet tried anything. my favourite is cook with jamie, maybe because I really learnt from that one . I used to be so so useless and now I can only thank him (he used to get on my nerves) - I bet dh thanks him every single night .

Kathyis6incheshigh · 05/02/2008 15:26

Oh yes, I can see why it is going to have to be good to justify the £25 cover price. I have just paid half price for it on Amazon.

I'm a Jamie addict - didn't have any until just over a year ago and since then I've bought all 3 Naked Chef ones and Jamie's Dinner and cooked my way through about a quarter of them (which is quite a lot of cooking). Individually they all look so appealling but it is possible to have too many cookery books and end up never being able to remember which one the recipe you want was in....

I would recommend Jamie @ home book, along with James Martins pudding book (featuring all the recipes from his Sweet Baby James book)

I want one of those outside ovens!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 06/02/2008 11:20

I like James Martin. He clearly likes food.

florenceuk · 06/02/2008 11:29

yes I succumbed and ordered it off Amazon for £12.50 (out of stock at the Book People but was only £10 there).

have the Jamie book but haven't done anything out of it yet. Strikes me that the recipes aren't the easiest to read if you are cooking in a hurry. But am aiming to try a few after seeing him do them on TV and they looked easy.

The other reason is that I got Cooking out of the box for Christmas and it is fab. Written by Mr Abel of Abel and Cole and its idea for using up my veg box. Don't think I've ever cooked so many recipes from one book before...
